Obsessive Texting!!! GRRRRR

# 1 : Saturday 3-4-2010 @ 12:48

We all know these people. You know, the kind that you spend about 5 minutes trying to say goodnight to on msn, finally make an excuse about the cat needing to get out, only to find yourself lying in bed 5 minutes later and the phone goes beep beep!

Aside from being upfront about it and telling thsi person, 'Stop F**king texting me!!!!', aside from the subtle hinting about 'oh I dont use my phone a lot, oh I had no credit, oh the phone was out in the car', what can you really say to someone in this situation? You want them to stop texting in whats nothing more than obsessive and scary, yet you don't want to be rude about it either.

Its surprising how many people out there are guilty of this! Its like they're using msn and texting as an extension of their own thought system. HELP!!!!

People usually only continue texting if you reply to them. Ignore it, its not rude if its not something serious.
What is it with people and phones and facebook and breaking down if someone does not get as trigger happy as they do?

I hate texts. One former acquaintance of mine used to only text me after midnight and threw a strop when I didn't respond to one of them. Ponce.

Maybe you need to more selective about who you give your number to? or just be happy to let the other person have the last word. If someone repeatedly texts you without you replying, unfriend, blacklist, block number....stalker alert!!

What really irritates me about texting are those that need to send 5 texts to get across a message when one text would suffice.

What really bugs me are people who text at the most inappropiate times, especialy when they do it on purpose, smacks of being totaly sad....

Or the person who texts to berate you because you haven't replied within 5 mins to their text!

Especially when they've not asked you a question, but merely stated something.

Was just gonna ask though Blur, how can someone always know when its an in appropriate time? But I see you say 'when they do it on purpose'....

I've friends I wouldn't dare text during, say, a football match, or, depending on who they are, Coronation Street or Dr. Who! Or I know my sister is up to her eyes in kids and the evening meal from about 6 - 7pm, so she's a no text/no call zone then.

If you've just seen them posting on Gaire, yes.
