Dance/Electronic Recommendations

# 1 : Friday 9-4-2010 @ 16:11

Hi guys, recently I have been rediscovering my love of dance/electronic music. Mainly mainstream stuff. Bands/djs I am enjoying right now would be Prodigy, Pendulum, Justice, Digitalism, Boys Noize, Hot Chip, Simiam Mobile Disco, David Guetta...

All very different artists but I'm looking for any recommendations to any similar acts to any of the above...

All help appreciated...

Unkle are great, i love there collaberations with other artists like Richard Ashcroft, Ian Brown and Tom York. Psyence Fiction and Showreel are both good albums to check out.

I like some of Underworlds earlier albums, Second Toughest in the Infants and Dubnobasswithmyheadman are great.

Snivilisation by Orbital is sightly out there but brings back good memories too.

Orbital are my favourite.

Their best album in my opinion is In Sides. Takes months to get into but when it starts to click it will never leave you.

Try The Box, Chime, Technologicque Park, Nothing Left, Satan, Beached, Out There Somewhere

Also,

Daft Punk - Da Funk, Around the World, anything off the Discovery album.
Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar, Loops of Fury, Hey Boy Hey Girl, The Private Psychedelic Reel
Aphex Twin - On, Windowlicker, Alberto Balsam

I love trance; System F - Out of the Blue, Paul van Dyk - For an Angel, Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes, Armin Van Buuren - In and Out of Love, Three Drives - Greece 2000, Lucid - I Can't Help Myself, Gouryella - Gouryella

Also have a soft spot for Rave - Praga Kahn - Injected with a Poison, SL2 - On a Ragga Tip, Altern-8 - Evapor-8, Utah Saints - Something Good,

boards of canada - roygbiv, dj shadow - stem, chequarboard - skating couple

Great remix by Bedrock of Underworld's Cowgirl - hard to believe it is from on the guts of 20 year ago.

Great documentary on the birth of electronic/synthesizer music in the early 1970s featuring German music artists such as Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and Giorgio Moroder.
