If You've OCD And Ya Know It, Wash Yer Hands

My elderly neighbour collected so many things that he had to move out as he couldn't move in his house anymore. the house is jammed packed and apparently he's doing the same thing to his new house.

anyways, do any of ye little angels in gaireland have any weird or unusual compulsions? do you wash the fridge out everyday, have to count all your maltesers before you eat them and consume them in order of ascending mass or have to have to count out loud, 100 brush strokes when brushing your hair?

I have a weird thing for lists sometimes very very long lists and i have to break down journeys and tasks into percentiles of how and what has been done.

Sometimes I spell a word quietly after I've said it, it has to be a word of a specific lenght ("Specific" would actually be an example), short words like "it", "to", "and" etc I ignore. It only really started when I started posting on forums, it's kind of like I've become obsessed about spelling, I suppose 5 years of Internet spelling and grammar Nazi's has taken it's toll. It's not to bad when I'm posting on a forum but it can be very irritating in a normal, real world conversation trying to supress the urge to spell every word I say.

That's just good sense. I do this too but it comes from having a bit of project management experience.

Incidentally, funniest thread title in ages.

Ha. I used to do the word thing. Also liked it if
the letter count was a multiple of 3 or 5....extra points if both. Got a reading based jib now so thank god I grew out of it!

I can't think of any compulsions at all. There has to be some. Someone with my personality doesn't get away with having no compulsions.

I used to be quite bad, but I find that as I get older I'm learning to stop myself but it's hard.

I like to count things, it used to be everything, like lines on a page, tiles on the floor. I blame count dracula from sesame street. but I've trained myself somewhat to stop now.

When I sat down to eat I used to have to touch the 4 corners of the table, in a particular order. But now theres a circular table so its all good.

Also I freak out if I realise I've been watching the TV and the volume was on an uneven number! eww, especially 17 or 19, why would someone do that?!
Finally, thankfully I've stopped, but after I said something I used to write the last word on the roof of my mouth with my tongue.

There's more, but I don't want to come off as complete insane now do I?!

My house mate does my head in with OCD.. he see's a finger print on the fridge and cleans it dramatically over and over again, even when there are people over for drinks he goes around and cleans and picks little speckles off the floor... so annoying.

Both, all the lingerie is handwashed once a week, even if it doesn't need it
