The Interesting Statistics Thread

# 1 : Monday 9-8-2010 @ 17:38

Now before I hear cries of "Oxymoron!"....Interesting Statistics are as much an oxymoron as, say, interesting prog rock albums or interesting cloud formations; ie someone somewhere must think they are interesting.

So, if while browsing the wonderful internet you come across a set of figures that throw new light on an accepted view, or maybe uncover new research on something and think to yourself, "My, my, I wonder what the cool guys over at G head-quarters would make of this..." then this is the thread to place such an article.

Please quote your sources by internet link, even if it's the lowly Wikipedia.

(yes Frodo, my life is this dull)

How is Donegal that high up and Sligo that low down? And Fermanagh is whole lot lower than I expected. I always though the counties in the North had much higher populations than those in the South for some reason.

You should cross reference these figures with the size of the counties to see which actually have the higher population density.

Oh and the Limerick one is a bit askew as a good bit of what most people consider Limerick is actually in Clare. (many border extension arguments had down here over it.)

The table did have densities but I removed them. You can see them if you click the wiki link

That is interesting there are more overweight people then starving ones

15488 before the end of oil, the big question is how long before affordable oil, are we at peak??, then all those bad stats will speed up rapid.
