Id much prefer a inbox and let me decide where i want to put the emails i have folders for everything now this has gone and fecked it up.
I must say if i log into gmail on a web browser the folders seem to be gone but if i log in with the gmail app i have them back again. Suppose i will not use the app anymore.

That's weird - no prioity on mine. THe usual "important" box - but they all appear in the normal inbox anyway.

Just as I was logging out from gmail, I realised that I had missed three that they had so kindly putin a folder called "Promotions". One was from Irish Seed Savers in Clare.

Is anyone else bored on Facebook? I just deactivated my account, I have 265 friends on Facebook, I've only spoken to two of my friends on FB in real life this week, and another three via apps, so I'm going cold turkey to see if it will improve my life.

I was never on facebook so what I don't know I won't miss. Everybody talks about it. I just switch off when friends start talking about it. I hate when I'm forced to watch the videos. Like some of them are good and all but its a bit too much sometimes.

I've watched people I know spend entire evenings scrolling through facebook on their phone. To the avoidance of all else.

Its sucking their brain space dry, the bit work hasnt got to.

I watched the new film The Circle on Netflix last night. Crap, shallow film essentially but gives you a chilling message that tech and social media companies are utterly destroying people's privacy. And now some American tech company is offering to implant data chips in their employees. Truly chilling stuff.

Same here, I get the Dart every morning and every single person on it is scrolling through their phone, like you have to wonder if they really have that many friends that they would be posting at 7 am. It is like that episode of Dr Who with Trigger from Only Fools and Horses in it where everyone had the thing sticking out of their ear and eventually get turned into Cybermen.

@Jupiterkid - once people start accepting chips they stop being people and start being cattle because you could go nowhere in the world without being tracked, "off the grid" would be a thing of the past

Black Mirror season 2 White Christmas, is a good example of implanted tech. To be honest I've gone 21 hours without the app on my phone and I think I've noticed the difference, most notably while waiting in shops and on the dart.

I loved Black Mirror White Christmas, the part about how the block/ban for life function is abused was brilliant because nowadays that's what happens to people where one person has the power to basically remove another person from a whole community on a whim, it happens all the time on Trans forums where someone who was normally very active and chatty will just be having a bad day and say one thing that the owner or a moderator doesn't agree with and all of a sudden you'll never see them post again but then again most trans forums are nuts anyway, they are the epitome of the phrase "The lunatics are running the asylum"

Oh yeah and did you see the Black Mirror where the Prime Minister had to fuck a pig? brilliant episode, it was actually out even before all that stuff became public about Cameron shoving his tackle in a pigs mouth but I reckon the person who wrote that episode must have known him in college or something because it was way too specific to be a coincident
