My pc of 7 years, windows xp is frozen with just a blue screen. I think it may have got a virus or something. i am raging as I always have Norton Symantec security. Anyways nothing works, like mouse wont move and the screen goes a little haywire. Is it fecked? has anyone ever had this and is it recorable or even worth trying to get some to repair it? Even if I was just able to recover my photos as I have some photos of family and close friends I would like to keep.

A computer/Smartphone question:

I transferred a file from my PC to my Sony Xperia. But now I can't find it using the Xperia. There doesn't seem to be a wy to just browse files on the mobile. What should I do?

This happens to most people from time to time.
Hold down the start button on the keyboard until the computer turns off.
Wait a minute and then turn the computer on as normal.
I would be very surprised if any of your photo files are damaged or gone.

Your data should be ok, this blue screen is a problem with the operating system, so all your data should be safe. The only way to get out of a blue screen is try and go into safe mode within windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/p etc ...
Try that and see if it boots into safe mode for you, if it does then it maybe that any new software that has been installed is causing the Blue screen, (if you get into safe mode you might want to try and attach an external USB drive/key and copy your data from the machine.
I would suggest that you go into add/remove programs and see if there is any unusual software installed - remove anything that you may not require, also remove tool bar software.

If you can't get into safe mode then this may in turn suggest that there may be a problem with your hard drive or some other device on your machine (again only plug in what you need to use - so plug out any printers, or any other USB devices that you don't use, obv keep the mouse and keyboard)

Failing that you should get a random number from the blue screen, make a note of this and then google it - you will be surprised what results you may get back and possibly a solution to your problem.

I found a way around it so didn't have to get the file off the phone. But I had a read through, seems I'm missing an app that allows you to browse files.

When I open gaire on my phone a large coloured drawing of a annoyed looking man with the words BPATBA (the first letter is the Russian B) underneath comes up with a continue button. It's only gaire.
