Teeth Whitening - Anyone Had It Done

god no! what are you gay?

...oh wait! for a second there I though I was still in the closet.

Yeah, I've never had it done, I dont think I need whiter teeth but I would love to get some of my back teeth done by a decent cosmetic dentist(there's a very good one in Maynooth, he did a chip my sister had in one of her teeth and now it looks wonderful).
My front teeth aren't too bad, but Jaysus have I had a lot of extractions and fillings in my day.
I'd be surprised if I have even half a dozen molars left in my head.

Just back an hour or so after getting them done. Major sensitivity!!!
Hopefully seems to be worth it, they weren't bad to begin with but I can really notice the difference already and I've been given some gel to use if I want them even whiter (but i'll leave them as they are I think as I don't want the Ross look).

That's great! Post up some pics when you are happy with them so we can see the new gnashers!

make sure you stay away from staining substances like coffee and wine etc for the first while after whitening.

Never had it done but interested in it as part of a full dental makeover. Hoping to go to Bulgaria.

Being considering getting whitening for a little while now, despite not smoking, daily brushing etc I think my love of tea is taking it's toll.

I've heard that Zoom is said to be great

It's the zoom i had done, works quite fast, I was done after about 90mins in total and there is a noticeable difference. The only downside is the pain, I should have taken some sort of painkiller before going in. Your teeth become really sensitive about halfway through the procedure and there are shooting moments of pain for the remainder which is quite uncomfortable, but the end justifies the means. The sensitivity only lasted a couple of hours afterwards too, all fine now.

Thinking of getting it done I have some real yellow teeth
I am just a bit worried about the side effects removing enamel and sensitivity

Don't even think about doing it yourself,There are some really dangerous products out there, cheapest option might be to go to a dentist in Northern Ireland.

I was asking my dentist about that. Its a tray and a mould and you put it in for 6 evenings. Theres no lasers or anything like that. 600 for top and bottom. Like a bleaching kit. I would think it safer to get done at a reputable dentist.

600 quid? I have to fucking laugh!

No matter how good it is it will weaken your enamel and further destroy your teeth, Which I guess means ker-ching for your dentist so no wonder they recommend it!

Just get them cleaned every now and then. Better to have healthy strong teeth than weaken them with corrosive materials that will probably make them over-sensitive to hot and cold beverages, etc.
