The new Tralee bypass is coming on nicely and is due to open this summer.
It won't be a motorway but sections of the new road will be narrow (type 2) dual carriageway.
In other roads news, work has finally begun on the long awaited M11 Rathnew to Arklow project (which was delayed for several years) plugging a dangerous gap in the Dublin-Rosslare route and a flyover at Newlands Cross on the N7 Naas Dual Carriageway to make the lights here freeflow.
Also, the M17/18 Gort to Tuam motorway in Galway should start by the end of this year.
The widening of the M1 motorway from Dublin Airport to the Swords North junction from 2 to 3 lanes each way is almost complete.
