You're all being brainwashed!! I got freesat last April ish and happy with it so far, apart from no History or National Geographic, we have all the rest of the channels. Channel swithcing is a little slower compared to UPC and you occasionally get "channel unavailable" and have to wait a couple of seconds (2-3) for it to come on. It cost 295 for the dish, box & installation. These are the guys
http://www.freesat.ie/
They have an actual shop in Fairview which I liked, not like some of the ads you see which are just a mobile number and some guy working alone.
People just seem to be brainwashed as i said into sticking with Sky or UPC, wake up!!!

Never got a deal that way, my experience is they say fine off you go, they couldnt care less

You're the one that needs to wake up I think

People like to watch their favourite TV programmes these days by catching up on what they have recorded or On Demand.

Rang to cancel with them and they offered me a reduction from 66 to 55 per two months. Too little too late. Contacting the local satelitte man now for a hot dish.

I wonder will we get better channels. I have to say I am delighted with my €25 a month package, but it will probably be over a €100 this time next year.

I hope so. Some of my friends in the UK are with Virgin Media and they seem happy enough.

Sky are still the market leader when it comes to products and services / channels but UPC's current strength is with their broadband. Hopefully that won't change when Virgin Media take over.

I sent an email but only got an automatic reply. I actually found the email address to cancel on boards.ie as I couldn't find it on their new website. Talk about being trapped.
