Stirfry! Do you pronounce it steerfry or stoorfry?

Eh, no. I pronounce it stir-fry - more like stur-fry than either of the options you gave us

I'd rhyme stur with her and stoor with boor or one of the pronunciations of whore that is heard in Ireland

Your man from Portugal is clearly fully integrated into Irish society if he can make that joke.

Well, considering that on my first few weeks here I used to go clubbing in the George and drink nothing but Diet Coke I did Ok getting into the groove. Not sure I match Irish levels of pints consumption but I do Ok.

This is probably very random. Some of you may remember a member of this site called Malarky (he had other incarnations too)

I was recently told by a distant acquaintance from Dublin the man behind the online name has passed away.

Do any of you know if this is true?

Please don't mention his actual name. I have asked the permission of Thomas to post this and he has asked that no names be mentioned

If Trump, 45th President is not re-elected next time, but elected again some time after, in say 2024.
Will he be both the 45th and 47th president?
(If re-elected in 2020, no question, he remains 45th...)

Has that ever happened? (2 non-consecutive terms)

Yes, it has happened. The 22nd and 24th president was Grover Cleveland (1885–89 and 1893–97).

How weaponized is the US? Why do they allow people to buy automatic weapons? As many as they like without any control?
Their constitution allows bearing arms but that's technically rifles not automatic military grade weapons.
It's a bit mental.

The collective noun for nieces and nephews is niblings apparently. Sounds like a mice infestation. There has to be something better than this?!?!
