And that is why a proportionately greater number of straight people get so worked up about having children. They are mostly hardwired to reproduce.

You're completely missing my point and ignoring where I paraphrased what you said

Ive noticed alot of people in my extended family and my close friends are all having babies... I dread the christenings as all I hear is "oh have you not met anyone" "your still single, ye?" and the classic one "we cant wait till you have kids"

In a way its great to see this level of acceptance but thanks but no thanks

If you say, When I have kids, I'm going to chain them in the cellar and feed them bread and water. See what they say then?

I'd be terrified of having my own children but I can't wait for my sister to hopefully have one

They grow up, become more demanding and put their hand out for money all the time!

Ask their parents for a loan, the amount they're requesting and tell them they'll be paid when you get it back?

I'm one of those people who definitely doesn't want children.

I would also recognise the phenomenon of babies suddenly popping out en masse as people I went to university with all settle down and try to have them before time runs out (and quite a few who are now suddenly finding having a baby a real struggle having left it late).

I would also say that I now see less and less as of those with kids but I think that's just a natural part of life; and why having a circle of gay mates becomes even more important.

I don't however, feel any real pressure to fawn over babies; I think that just depends on your social circle etc.

But your gay mates may be having babies too, hopefully it will be easier to adopt soon.
