Attacks Outside The George

# 1 : Monday 28-4-2014 @ 17:08

Hi all, just a note of caution, a Garda friend of mine told me that there has been a number of attacks on lads leaving the George in recent weeks.

Two younger looking lads approach single lads on their own and lure them down an alley where they are then robbed and sometimes attacked. The attacks are being investigated and my friend is contacting the George and GCN. But just be careful is you are leaving the G on your own.

They are Romanian and only attack guys on their own,and always in laneways or quiet side streets, hope they get what's coming to them.

Saw this on FB too, apparently it is a gang of romanian teens attacking gays and drunks in the area.

Hopefully they get caught soon. In the meantime, stay on the main streets and try to leave gay pubs in pairs if possible especially if you've had a few.

Walk down an alley with a stranger and you deserve to be mugged - why report it and look like an even bigger idiot

The streets aren't just there for thugs, they are the ones who should suffer.

just to clarify that its not just gay people that are being attacked - but people on their own - so the message is really to be very careful if walking around dublin on your own late at night.

Point1: This advise from an Administrator of Gaire breaches the Constitutional Rights of Irish Citizens and others resident in our State. (See below)

Point 2: It should be retracted!!

Point 3: Furthermore it raises the question of why the owner of Gaire allows these views be voiced by members of their Team of Administrators? I’m sure all members of this brilliant (Gaire) community will appreciate clarity on this point?

CONSTITUTION OF IRELAND – BUNREACHT NA hÉIREANN
“We, the people of Éire,…. And seeking to promote the common good, with due observance of Prudence, Justice and Charity, so that the dignity and freedom of the individual may be assured, true social order attained,…”

“And Fundamental and personal rights: article 40.3.2…..
2° The State shall, in particular, by its laws protect as best it may from unjust attack and, in the case of injustice done, vindicate the life, person, good name,….”

Moderators/Administrators are volunteer helpers on this site, they/we are as entitled to post an opinion as anyone else. I fail to see how someones opinion 'breaches constitutional rights', its only an opinion, not an action and certainly not advice.

Our constitution is all well and good, but without posting police men on every corner it is hard to implement. Try telling your attacker that you have rights and see if they care. It is best to be pro-active and to ensure your own safety while the state can not do it for you.

Walking down a lane-way with a stranger, especially with so many assaults and beatings happening at the hands of strangers down lane-ways would be a very serious risk to take.

No one deserves to be mugged, but people might as well toss their wallet to a stranger if they are going to knowingly take risks like this.

These attacks are awful, but common sense can usually avoid these attacks happening at all. Going down a lane with people you dont know is not the brightest thing to do! (horny or not!).
And leave Flameon alone; administrator or not, he's a member of the forum and entitled to his opinion on the matter!
