Losing Weight

I need to shed about 2 stone. I've really developed a pregnant papa paunch as of late. Diet & regular exercise will be key.

What's more important - losing weight or giving your body what it needs?

I want to reconcile the two objectives.

What exercise regime was he on?
What weight of potatoes per day did he eat?
Has the absence of other food groups affected other aspects of his health?

And that is possible but one of them is more important that the other for your general health.

Any "only" diet is a bad idea unless it's a "healthy food only diet".

You need protein, minerals and vitamins that potatoes just don't have.

You seem to concentrate on what is part of the diet whereas it's very important to take notice of what you're leaving out of your diet that your body needs to stay healthy.

What an inspiration! I'd rather shoot myself in the face.

What's wrong with microwaving instead?

My issue is with a diet solely consisting of potatoes not in what manner they are cooked. You thinking this form of nourishment is somehow acceptable is depressing at the very least.

It's pure gobshitedness.
Eat healthy food, exercise and push your body a few times a week.

Two steps to a fit and healthy body.

The key is preparation, do a proper shop, bulk make meals and always bring your lunch to work. This means you know what went into what your eating and you're less likely to buy a shitty sandwich from the local Spar. I wouldn't recommend a low fat diet though, try using proper fats like butter and olive oil and then reduce the portions. Swap carbs for vegetables whenever you can. I use aubergine in my lasagna rather than pasta, I make pizza and rice with cauliflower and I use almond flour to make spicy Chinese chicken, it's the same as what I would get from the takeaway on the corner.

You will lose weight gradually and you won't feel like your missing out either.
