Last gig I went to was Sigur Ros in the O2. As much as I love them, their music is all very similar and trancy so it gets a bit much after 45 minutes.

I think the best live band ive seen was probably Alabama 3.
There are about a dozen members on stage and they really play up the 'Found God ex Drug dealer Deep south Electro Blues' act.

Obvo - Kate Bush last year was the most astonishing gig I'd been to.

Possibly one of the greatest gigs I've been to was Smashing Pumpkins in Cascais in 1996.

They played forever, the atmosphere was electric and years later they still mentioned that gig as one of their best ever.

Unfortunately, being 1995 there's no video of it but here's a radio interview where Billy Corgan talks about it:
