Tea - Love It Or Loathe It?

I'd never make myself a cup of tea at home it's always coffee. From first thing in the morning to last thing at night, I drink way too much of it.

Tea abroad just never tastes the same.

Must be the water or something?
I've brought different types of tea back from overseas and they taste better here.

You can not get a proper cup of tea in any restaurant/cafe etc.. in the US.

There is a reason why.

The water used to make tea is drawn from the coffee machine.
Coffee machines do not have boiling water.
Coffee is ideally brewed at 190 deg F.
All coffee machine are set to dispense water at 190 deg F.

Tea should be made with boiling water , 212 deg F.

I have 2 cups of coffee in the morning when I get up.
I drink iced tea ( I know, sacrilege) with lunch.
Between 5 and 7 pm I drink a cup or two of proper tea.

After that I switch to whiskey.

My siblings send me the tea from Ireland.

I don't use sugar in my tea or coffee.

and I freshly grind the coffee beans immediately before brewing each cup (filter method).

That's so true.
I was in New York this year and the hotel had those self serve coffee and 'hot' water for tea things each morning.
The tea was always lukewarm, so I had to ask for actual boiling water in a pot each morning.

Tea as we know it, basically doesn't exist outside of Ireland.

you can ask for "english breakfast tea, made extra strong" is about the closest you'll get.

I hate tea, it reminds me of hospitals, blahh. I have not willingly had a cup since I was 12.

Do you drink coffee instead or just no hot drinks?
