What's the water like over there JK, for drinking?

The water is fine. Much softer than most of Ireland. The water is not the problem, it's the lack of quality tea bags!

Have you tried ginger?

no, but if anyone wants to, here's me number wha!?

I find with ginger, you;re better off just actually smashing off a piece of fresh ginger and using that. (same with lemon and ginger)

The best Irish/English style tea you can get is Campbell's Perfect Tea (the loose stuff in the yellow tin).
Buy yourself the strainer, and even if you brew it badly, you'll still notice a difference in how much more robust, rounded and full of flavour it is compared to Lyon's or Barry's, with or without milk and sugar.

I must try that, thanks for the tip.

I find they have changed the formula for Barry tea as I get this bitter taste from it and it leaves really bad tea stains at the bottom of cup.

It might be a change in how you brew it too, or even something as simple as if you've recently got a new kettle or tea pot (that makes the tea brew at hotter temperature closer to boiling point).
Black tea that is brewed longer becomes bitter, darker, and of course stains easier.

but you're right I think Barry's has changed slightly, I noticed it's nicer to drink black, (without milk) then previously.
Maybe the taste-testers have started taste-testing it with low fat milk or less milk in general.

Barry's Decaff is by far the best decaff tea you can buy here. Most other decaff tea brands are weak rubbish.

I'm enjoying a Bewleys Breakfast tea at the moment.
Might have a second cup, it's going down so well.

I grow lemon Blam and mint and sometimes mix the leaves into a tea pot and then pour boiling water into the tea pot and let it sit for a few minutes and you have this lovely flavor tea that is good for you.
