The address is the same as Stranos/ G Bar/ Wilde/ and other names.

A reopening, a re-envisioning or just for Galway Pride?

I was there a few weeks ago. Not sure it's a full time gay bar. Only on Saturday nights I think.

I do wish you well but Galway is probably too cool for needing a gay bar.

So many places / bars around that attract a wide range of people.

Great that Galway had a new gay bar. I sincerely hope it lasts.

You can't really go on the pull in O'Neaghtains now can you?

People have done for years (although it's got a lot more touristy since I was a regular visitor to Galway).

I'm sure gays have pulled in O'neaghtains but I'd hardly go there to go on the pull if I was single and/or have a snog with my same sex significant other. It's my favourite pub in Galway and I'd say I go about 4 times a year but if I hold my partners hand there, I'll most definitely get second looks.

I hope this time it lasts,

I'm sick of going to Galway and there being nowhere to go as a single gay person.
I don't understand the attitude people have that a town is either BETTER OFF without a gay bar or that somehow, not having one is "no loss".

I suppose theres a sizeable presence for the view of not needing a gay bar. All inclusive is all inclusive. A lot of our allies would have this opinion. In a good way. Others would think why do they need a gay bar? Why do they need their own parade etc.

But these opinions wouldn't deter gay customers from a gay bar obviously which is good. Hopefully this bar will last. Whats the story with all the gay bars shutting in Galway? Surely one gay bar can take in the pink euro no probs. Whats the issues anybody know?
