Dublin On A Sunday Night

# 1 : Saturday 5-8-2017 @ 12:14

I'm heading to Dublin tomorrow night (Sunday Aug. 6th)with himself. Any advice on where to hit for a few pints later in the evening? The George or Pantibar wouldn't be our scene, Street 66 was like a morgue on our last visit (also a Sunday). We enjoyed Jack Nealon's in the past but is it still attracting the same clientele since it changed hands earlier this year?
None of the so called gay web sites are particularly informative or up to date.
Any one nighters? Wouldn't mind a bop but we're the wrong side of 50!

No mess try a straight bar, as long as you both aren't chewing each others faces off no one will know you are gay anyway because as you say The George or Pantibar aren't your scene (I assume because they are just to loud?) so no one in a straight bar anywhere in Dublin would look twice at two 50+ year old guys sitting together having a drink, sure most of the old pubs have regulars that do that every day anyway. Just bone up on your sport if anyone asks your opinion at the bar about a match a good phrase that covers everything is "I know man what were they thinking?" whereas a bad phrase is "What match? sorry I don't watch sport"

I'd be inclined to start earlier in the day. I'd see if "Handsome Devil" is still on early somewhere, and if not try "Maudie", great little film but no gay sex, nonetheless worth seeing.

Follow that with a sensual full-body massage, mutual if needs be, to a happy conclusion. Follow that with fish & chips somewhere - you'll be starving after the movie & the massage.

Then toddle down to Mulligans for a few pints.I used to love it years ago on a Sunday night to hear the wonderful culchie accents of the boys and girls returning from outside the Pale for work the next day. Magic. You guys know how to enjoy life. Especially love Mayo boys, had many happy times in Achill Island & Ballyhaunis.

The few pints might make you horny again so off home with you and take to the bed.

Think I've talked myself into doing all that now...........!

What on earth are you talking about? Handsome Devil has been out of the cinemas for about 5 months. Also, who gets a massage on a night out? Fish and chips? What the actual fuck?

Tonight: maybe Oscar's in Smithfield. It will have a spill-over lgbt crowd from the GAZE film Festival and you can hear yourself talk in it.

@ Frodo, In fairness, he did say this is what he would do with an earlier start to the day. Some good ideas too.

Gosh, but you're an angry little chappie, aren't you Frodo? Calm down sonny, you shouldn't let things get to you like that. I see you have lots posts here, I suspect many of them are as cranky as this one. Chill man chill! Enjoy your life!!!!
